PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE
I was going to write a message describing our new products and telling you about the important work our dedicated associates have done to improve our quality and realibility. Their work has been extraordinary and I know they are proud of what's been accomplished. Instead, I thought I would share a note from one of our recent customers."I want to thank you, Jim, and Jeff for taking time from your busy schedules to give us a plant tour. As I said I have a manufacturing background and found it very informative. The product moved through at a good pace, in a clean environment and productivity appeared good. Everyone appeared to know their job and worked well together.
Considering all that, I picked up the first trailer myself on October 30 and hauled a 42,000 pound load from LaPorte, IN to Cedar Rapids, Iowa. I was surprised to see that the sides did not flex in and out while traveling down the road. Brand "X" does flex. Also it appeared to ride better both empty and loaded than brand "X". Finally and most importantly, everything functioned properly and there were no problems.
A customer's first impression is very important. A salesperson sells the customer the first time and manufacturing, parts and service sell the customer the next time.
Again, thank everyone for their time and we at RFK Transportation are looking forward to a growing relationship with Vanguard.
